A father and son are walking towards their home on rue Devarennes in the Plateau Mont Royal borough of Montreal. There had been a heavy snowfall the day before and the street and sidewalks are still covered with snow and of course the cars have very little parking space.
This original oil painting is a small format painting on a 5x7canvas with the scene continued onto the sides. It can be displayed with a frame, on a table easel or hung by a hook unframed.

I so like the way the trees reach over the top of the canvas, leading me into the orange tones at the end of the street beyond. The blue shadows in the road are the perfect cool balance to the warm colors of the buildings.
